Where can I find Hebrew National Beef Salami in SF?

Interesting! I highly doubt that my mother was ever in Montreal, and to my knowledge, she was only in Canada twice. Once when we did the Maid of the Mist boat ride in Niagara Falls and once when she was in Vancouver with my dad during a cruise to Alaska. There wasn’t a Jewish deli within a few miles of our home.

I don’t know how she knew about frying the salami. It was probably just one of those recipes “handed down” from her mother and grandmother…her stuffed cabbage was divine!

I permit myself only HN one sandwich a week, usually on Sunday. Gotta make it last til I can find/buy more. It’s almost a ritual lunch right now.

I LOVED the salami and eggs my mom used to make, using HN salami. She’d cut the salami into chunks, fry it up in a pan, and then add beaten egg. I don’t think I’ve had that since I was a teenager.

That’s a great idea, except I’d dice the salami a bit smaller. It would be the Jewish version of ham and eggs…
