I saw this on Reddit a few days ago. And I watched her whiny TikTok, in which she said “I want to be an advocate for micro influencers” and just kill me now.
I always laugh out loud when I see someone’s Facebook profile & their job title is “digital creator.”
Agree wholeheatedly. And it looks like her whining got what she wanted:
"After sharing her viral TikTok, itskarlabb saw her following shoot up from 15,000 to over 215,000 followers. "
Maybe I need to whine more on TikTok. Cat videos are evidently not enough for that kind of following.
And we all know that the number of followers is perhaps The Most Important Achievement In Life.
Mine was embossed as well, like the ebay picture I posted. Ideally, that’s what I want to find again. Will see how it goes in my antiquing!
“I can type words into my phone”
“I do not have enough reach to make it worth paying me to advertise on your behalf, but you should do it anyway and you’re mean if you don’t.”
Pour one out for Tom Lehrer, who was not only my favorite satirical songwriter, but somehow (until very recently) still alive.
I will now commence singing The Vatican Rag until forced to stop.
Shame! I only found out about him when I introduced my PIC to his Austrian counterpart, Georg Kreisler. Lots of fantastic, darkly humorous songs, plus a few incidents where plagiarism on either side might be suspected…this one in particular:
“Bow your head with great respect and
Genuflect genuflect genuflect!”
[@small_h , are you Aspenglow, perchance?]
I learned to sing that song when I was a tiny little Jewish girl (I’m now a slightly larger Jewish girl), without ever seeing the lyrics written out. It was decades before I added Kyrie Eleison to my vocabulary - I’d pretty much thought the phrase was gibberish until then.
i don’t know what that means! (I looked it up, and I’m still confused.)
NM. Your comments nearly matched other comments on another (non-food) board I regularly visit.
Oh! I’m small_h (or very similar) pretty much everywhere that I’m not posting under my real name.
Uganda would be a foreign ride for me.
Tubes are the reason I want those. Best tube power/pres around.
That Was The Week That Was, US, raised on it. RIP, TL.
Watched it faithfully!
My dad had Tom Leher’s first album on LP. So I grew up with “Lobachevsky”, “An Irish Ballad”, “My Home Town”, etc. One summer I went to sleep-away camp. The whole bit, cabins, ghost stories, etc. A couple of counselors even got sent home after getting caught having sex in the boathouse.
But, when it cam time for the camp talent show, our cabin enacted out the entirety of “The Hunting Song”, with me singing/narrating it, a capella, because I had already memorized it. We rather cruelly made the heaviest kid in the cabin drape a blanket over himself, wear a bell, and intone “… and a cow!” on each chorus.
Hah! Amazing.
