What's on your mind? (2025) - good way to start... even if a bit early... :-)

I would not scoff. It’s reminiscent of ballpark nachos, and I LOVE ball park nachos. For the first few bites.

The joke is, to me at least, when you look at the cursive font, this is the kind of place, like a cozy B + B or oldtimer brunch place, where you would order some pretty good waffles , blueberry pancakes or eggs Benedict in New England, not a good breakfast burrito. Some of the replies are pretty funny. I’ll post the link to the tweet, so you can scroll through the replies.

They were bitching about that in the comments.

My last experience with the bald faces was when I was walking between the compost structure and the serviceberry tree. I mush have brushed against something in their flight path and immediately a dozen or more flew UP my shift (a type of simple dress ftnitk). I stripped right there and then and ran to the faucet to hose myself off. Had to call in sick for work. Lots of ā€˜Sting Kill’ and benedryl got me through. No witnesses, fortunately, we live in the woods.

I received such a thoughtful (not to mention surprising!) gift from one of my gal pals today: a Manhattan/Brooklyn cocktail set through Cocktail Courier

The card said ā€œsending good spirits,ā€ so I’ll assume it’s to help us get over the loss of our monkey boy just 3 weeks ago :broken_heart:

Two beautiful coupes, a small bottle of Dolin rouge, Angostura bitters, Filthy Black Cherry syrup & cherries, Jefferson’s Rye, and… probably (?) unrelated Cloud 23 hot habanero hot sauce.

What a lovely gift! And is there such thing as a ā€œHot Manhattanā€ cocktail in which you can use a touch of that habanero hot sauce? If not, invent one!

I’m not entirely sure it would work with the black cherry syrup, TBH.

I’ll save the hot sauce for our food adventures

This is stupid. Really stupid. But sentimental.

I’m bemoaning the fact that a vintage shot glass with a pour spout I picked up at either an antique auction or antique store in Pennsylvania back in the 1980s just fell off my kitchen counter and shattered on the floor. :sob::sob::sob:

It’s one that my late stepfather always swore he was going to steal from me because he loved the idea of the spout. Made it easier to pour the vodka into my glass for vodka and lemonades. :slightly_smiling_face: Yes, I have other shotglasses I can use, including another medicinal one…but it doesn’t have a spout! :frowning: It feels like I’ve lost a tiny connection to my stepfather.

I’m going antiquing next weekend up to Quechee, VT and Concord/Meredith, NH. You can believe I’ll be on the lookout! Hopefully Paul will steer me in the right direction to find another. If not, there’s always eBay.

It looked like this.

Not silly or stupid at all. We make attachments that have meaning for us.

Here is one on eBay,

Shot glass with spout

And I agree with @CCE – small items remind us of past fond memories of important individuals.

That’s a decent price, thanks @Desert-Dan! I saw several in Google search that would be about $18 after shipping, and my brain just said ā€œNo!ā€

They are actually glass medicine dosing cups! You can still buy a box of them! I did several years ago. With spouts. And embossed, not painted, measurements.

Mine are like this
