What's on your mind? (2025) - good way to start... even if a bit early... :-)

Cats are better people than most people.

Posted the same sentiment on Facebook, and was corrected by someone saying all people.

I concur.

Seconding (or sixthing?) this. On a related note, one of their most annoying (IMO) arbitrary omissions popped up today: INANITION. It’s a perfectly normal word and I have NO idea why they refuse to include it! Inanition, maybe?

I do not know this word!

Definitions from Oxford Languages
noun formal
exhaustion caused by lack of nourishment.
“the members of the rear party died of inanition”
lack of mental or spiritual vigor and enthusiasm.
“she was thinking that old age bred inanition”

Great word for a foodie to know!

Yes, I looked it up and am excited to work it into conversation!

Status - warm, relaxed buzz from using the Jacuzzi after managing to get work outs in on 4 of 5 days this week. It’s a bathtub with jets, as opposed to the bigger, more 80s style hot tubs, but that is more than good enough for me!

No pelmeni in yesterday’s SB.

So random, that puzzle.

Lifelike, almost.

I have one of those deep jetted bathtubs in my condo. Haven’t used it in years though, too old to get in and especially out safely, and there’s really no way to retrofit grab bars. It was wonderful when I could use it.

In a lux inn In the south of France, After a long day of driving husband settled into the deep Jacuzzi tub for a long soak. Activated all the jets and was purring like a cat. Then it was time to get out. Lactic acid reaction set in. We went down to dinner. He was practically crippled, Wincing in pain. He never got with 3 feet or another one.

I make it a point to spend no longer than 20 minutes in the tub and try to be careful with the temperature. You can have too much of a good thing!

You have to be particularly careful about the time spent as it can trigger tachycardia if you are prone to it; the maximum is 10 minutes.

I’ve nearly passed out in the shower a couple of times - I now have a sturdy bench in the stall. Long hot showers have been taken off the menu.

Y’all start talking about metamucil and your BMs next, and I’m outta here!

Nah. Shower/bathroom equipment use is safety, pure and simple. Falls are bad. And harder to fix than a gut. As for my gut, nothing I could have done would have prevented my GI bleed; my dad had the same thing at the same age. I don’t have any Metamucil around the house !

It’s all waiting got you …

No unagi.

Not today, but according to the SB, 2 c-words are “not a word.” Uh, yes they are

@John , are you near the NorCal fires? All good thoughts.

I’ve given up on SB’s arbitrary rules. Well, they seem arbitrary to me at least. I’ve come up with a few words that 8should* have been accepted. Takes a lot — no, strike that —-most of the fun out of the puzzle.
