Lol. Now, my ukelele… (and, piano…)
We can do a duet! (I forgot to mention mine…)
I have two! Let’s start a band
I can play the drums! Poorly!
I should clarify that I haven’t picked up either my soprano nor my tenor (baritone?) uke, both of which I bought at this wonderland in Berlin.
The soprano turned out to be tricky to play (especially if one has bewbz*), and not well-suited to my voice.
The OG plan was to learn a few songs and busk in the summer in Berlin — just to make some extra drinking / going out cash, since we’re there for 2 months with me not working, but spending plenty of money instead. I figured if I get paid to sing back home, might as well try the same there: plenty of areas where one can play a song or two for a full restaurant patio, then move on to the next one…
However, I have zero self-discipline and therefore suck at practicing*, so this never shook out. I’m honestly debating taking the big uke this time and giving it a shot. Pain to travel with* tho…
*Excuses, excuses, I know
PS: An electric tuner is a game changer. I’ve not looked into capos, but that might be a good idea for me as well.
I have one somewhere here (and a capo), but another of each is coming today. My poor finger tips are very unhappy with me today!
That’s the hardest part: working your way up to calluses! Well, that… and barre chords
I had an ex who played both acoustic and electric. He bought me an acoustic and tried to teach me how to play so I could accompany him. I only managed a very basic plunk, strum, strum, maybe two chords. I’m pretty good on spoons and castanets.
You can amaze and disgust your little friends by putting sewing needles through your calluses.
Wow. Blast from the past. I did not know I had that memory until you mentioned it
My heart is breaking for Vancouver today. WTF is wrong with people?
There are no words for that.
The acting chief said he was known to police in “certain circumstances”. DUI? Drugs? Prior threats of violence?
I guess I’ve never grown up …
Or you just kept your calluses
I’m not seeing much info about the driver, and it’s been quite a while. I’ll let you know if I’m surprised.
Still waiting for the declaration of coverage to arrive…
CBC says he had an “extensive history” of mental health interactions with police and mental health care workers.
It’s Election Day in Canada.
