I decided on strip roasts this year for Christmas dinner. They were down to $7/lb, and I hadn’t done one until last week. Everyone really enjoyed it (medium rare roasted, then pan seared and thin sliced).
Weird thing is that NY strip is probably my least favorite steak.
I got some whole (in cryovac) just to let it wet age a couple of months to see how much that matters.

Soldier down at our house! H has a bad cold, and woke up much worse than yesterday. Took DD2 and SIL to dinner at a favorite restaurant in Seattle for Christmas Eve, and they insisted we take the leftovers, to which we reluctantly agreed, thankfully. We weren’t planning a big dinner today, saving the feast for NYD, BUT several chicken carcasses on simmer for the requisite chicken soup. Hoping everyone who celebrates has happy holidays! I do hope the health issues some are having resolve soonest!

It is snowing big fat flakes right now. I am hoping for safe travels for those who are going out in the world here, today. Thinking of those in weather ravaged areas, too. I’ll be calling my California friends today to check on them.

Ice storm just started up here and is supposed to go through the night. Yikes. Glad we got nowhere to go, nowhere to be, and have plenty of food & libations in the house.

Yikes! I don’t even know half of those meds. Are they all various allergy meds?
Good question. I didn’t zoom in & just assumed they’re cold meds. But it cracked me up when I happened upon it.
I see several statins, an anticonvulsant, and even an erectile deficiency med.
