Oh, HA! That wasn’t even in reply to your failed post, but I suppose it’s applicable to many a situation 
My oldest daughter lucked into a part time engineering job. It’s not too hard to go from full to part time within a company, but it can be hard to get a new company to let you start off as a half-timer.
So now I’ve been doing Grandpa Daycare for a couple of weeks and it’s going pretty well.
He’s been learning “no”, mostly in the context of “no mouth”. About 90% of the stuff on the floor is ok, but the dog’s chew toys are off limits.
This is the look he’s started giving me when I tell him no. Just turned 8 months old.

How can you say no to those eyes? Can’t you buy him his own set of chew toys?

In the pic above, he was about to munch my shoelace when I told him no.
I’ve started double knotting them and when he pulls and can’t untie them, he gives me the same look. I tell him, “Sorry, I broke my shoelaces”.

Parenting is so ifferent now, “no” for us growing up became “not for so and so” and now the child is removed from the object? I dunno. Mother’s " NO" at the top of her lungs did the job.

I’m not sure, really. I’m just doing mostly what I did back when.
There is an IG account called “Overheard DC” that posts regularly with that sort of stuff with a very DC-ish flair. So funny.

He’s gorgeous! And looks feisty. Not meaning to pick a fight in the least, but is Mama okay with you posting his photos on the internet? I used to be very much on the internet but once we had our kiddo, everything changed. Her MMV.
