What's on your mind? (2024)

That’s a tough call. It would be on my brother, since we’ve agreed he’s the decision-maker. I try to spend as much time with her as I can. I live a long flight away from her. We support her financially. Had a breathtaking conversation with a representative from an assisted care facility where friends and family have lived. The entrance fee is 180,000 and the lowest cost per month is 4,700 for a minimal care apartment. Our family can’t afford that. It’s possible in my future that I will have to live with her if she gets to the point where she can’t be by herself.

That is a tough call . . .the cost of eldercare is criminal. I really don’t know how people do it. Or how they put up with the stress–financial or emotional.

We will do whatever we have resources for to be sure she is safe and comfortable. She’s our only surviving parent. My husband loves her as much as I do - I have immense despair when I think of losing her.

:face_with_hand_over_mouth: What are your thoughts on picking them early?

Now I am very pro picking early. I thought these ones would be safe in a pot on my second story front stoop. I bought some great very ripe “seconds” at the FM yesterday, thank goodness.

The news just reported a Costco membership will be increased by $5.00. First increase in years. That’s $65. Plus tax.

That’s so very sad. I have gardening pals who say that critters go for the tomatoes because of thirst, and recommend putting a bowl or vessel of water near them to prevent that destruction. We have 2 free-roaming Australian Shepherds as our defense.

The dotter who serves on SAR and EMT crews tells me all the time, " We don’t care what you look like; we’re there to help you". I was very lucky and glad to have her in the horsepital for a week with me.

My birthday is next week. A early present to myself . I enjoy olive oil . So I decided to order some olive oil from Frances Mayes and her husband. Harvested off the property. She bought the land next door also

. All of the property came with multiple olive trees .
I have been to Cortona. My favorite movie is Under The Tuscan Sun . I previously named my property. Bramasole . Wich means . To yearn for the sun . My sunflowers are busting along with my Italian zucchini. And the oil is supposed to be spectacular. Cheers

IIRC we had a serial one downtown a few years ago. Made the news.

Do stupid and rude things like NOT paying for your bill, and you will get outed on social media. But the fact that they were more concerned about their pictures being out there instead of the fact that they skipped out on the bill? UGH.
