When I was a school librarian, I had a big group of students who were obsessed with the Titanic. I had a large collection of Titanic books, and this was one of them. The kids werenât that interested in the food, but I was!
Found a sample of a South Indian rice variety that had been given to me by a colleague to try. From the look of the grains and fragrance, it seemed like it would be a good choice to use to make ghee bhat - a Bengali pilaf which has a light and sweet taste profile. I made it in a deep frying pan, which helped me keep an eye on the rice and prevent it from being overcooked.
Feeling simple - just had a boiled egg as accompaniment.

Ha- two days ago it was 103 and the humidity was 4%. If we switched places Iâd melt into a puddle and youâd dry up and blow away.
Good weather for a salad either way.
Picked up my new Rx lenses in my old eyeglass and sunglass frames. My right had a jump in Rx strength. Will supposedly need cataract surgery in 10-15 years, according to the ophthalmologist.
But for now, itâs good to be able to read more clearly.

Riff on hot wings, but dinner salad. Veg part has a ton of crunchies inc celery carrots radish etc, with garlicky rotisserie, garlic croutons, ranch, blue cheese vinaigrette, pickled onions, and franks!
