It’s not a thing in Germany, nor something I’ve encountered anywhere else but on HO.
cheap non-descript Japanese curry in a below ground setting. That got my appetite going.
Must have the raw egg and diced pickles. And an Asahi or two.
You should still be able to edit your post. I think the limit is two hours.
Thanks for that explanation. I’m very well-aware of editing windows. I didn’t want to directly edit my original post because another Onion quoted that excerpt.
You’re very welcome. The person who quoted you can also edit your quote in their response for two hours, in case you did not know that — I certainly did not, until very recently.
I like Japanese curry. I had ordered it in Toronto a couple times. Japanese curry and rice was part of the breakfast buffet at my Resort Hotel when I was skiing in Japan exactly 5 years ago today.
My first of 6 buffet breakfasts at Hakuba, curry at 11 am, next to the rice.
Singaporean Rendang or any Rendang is also good on a cold winter’s evening. (There has to be a vegetarian or pescatarian Rendang recipe somewhere! )
Visiting my sister in Arizona. Last night my BIL did a tri-tip on the Treager - delicious! I made a Greek-ish salad with romaine, cukes, tomatoes, kalamatas, hearts of palm and feta.
There have also been tacos…
mmmm… thanks for the extra tips!
Last night, BF made merguez/beef kofte with couscous, his garlicky hummus, sauteed cherry tomatoes and shallots (deliciously sweet!) with some feta, and a salad for me. we’d had a big brunch earlier so i only managed one of the kofte. But they were super juicy and tender.
thinking of making something similar tomorrow. i saw a tiktok (or reels, who knows) video using ground beef, but i think i’m going to try it with ground chicken.
Mmm…birria?
I knew I liked your style.
Munchies in front of the tv with adult beverages. Curried beer cheese and hummus with chili oil and cilantro
I am curious about the Rao’s, simply because I have a jar of it. Was it good?
A little bit salty, but not bad. The olive oil and pine nuts were a bit more prominent than the basil flavor. It got the job done, but I am not sure it’s better than Bertolli.
If you like Golden curry Chopstick chronicles has a recipe that tastes just like it. After it cools, I blitz it in the food processor and store the crumbs in the freezer. I refer to the Golden curry recipe on the brand’s box for the amount I need and basically follow the steps they list.
Thank you! I have a Middle Eastern tenant in my rental. I asked her to teach me how to make falafel. She dropped some off one day as a treat, and it was so good!
Thank you so much for that information.
Quesobirria!
Totally agree with you. Chilies rellenos are so very laborious to make at home. That is one dish to leave to the professionals, IMO.
