Zucchini-parm fritatta. The last of the blueberry pan biscuits from the freezer. Uli’s breakfast sausage. Euro pears. Gazpacho.
After our last soak at quinnshotsprings.com we headed to their tavern for a late breakfast.
The Roomate almost finished the chorizo omelet with sour dough toast. The omelet filled at least one half of the oversized plate. The breakfast burrito was my choice. Quite filling. I’ve had it before; this time there was a ton of bacon-y bits in it, not my favorite.
The highlight of our quik trip was watching the ISS flyover, spotthestation.nasa.gov during the previous evening’s soak.
Taco omelets.
Fluffy eggs wrapped around seasoned taco meat and grated cheddar. Served with a dollop of sour cream and tabasco. A chopped tomato and avocado salad in a lime-and-avo-oil vinaigrette.
That’s a brilliant idea!
Ha ha! Falls into the “make do with what you have” department.
A mess of leftover stir-fried spicy broccoli topped with two fried eggs.
It ain’t pretty, but it’s pretty delicious
No oat groats left, so today was rye porridge made with freshly flaked rye berries. The rye flakes don’t break down as much as those soft oats do, so there was a lot more texture in the porridge (which I like), but they tasted really nice. They’re not as sweet as oats, but there is sweetness there. I’ll have to remember to take a photo next time I make them. I added all the usual mix-ins: barberries, chia, hemp hearts, maple syrup, bee pollen, milk and a pat of butter. Delicious!
Toasted Italian cheese bread with apple jelly. Fried eggs (broke my yolk). Gazpacho.
Glad I’m not the only one. Even if I crack them into a bowl first, one of them inevitably breaks
Bacon & Egg McMuffin and a medium iced coffee on the road.
I gotta make that bread!
Vinegar Hill House cast-iron sourdough pancake using recipe from NYT. This has been in regular rotation and seems to work best with firmer fruit. I used apple today and served with cinnamon syrup.
Breakfast burritos with cheesy scrambled, braised moro beans with smoked turkey (freezer find, ftw!), and rice.
Mac & cheese frittata. Today’s secret ingredients (aside from M&C) include parmesan bechamel, chopped scallions, tabasco sauce, and a swipe of bacon fat to grease the pan.
There was gazpacho.
That sourdough pancake has been on my radar for some time - thanks for the prompt!
Breakfast this morning was leftover roasted veggies from dinner last night and sliced ham. I finished the peppers from last Thursday’s CSA only 1000 more veggies to go
Zucchini, basil, green onion and Swiss chard frittata.
