What Fast Food Chain Do You Love?

Has anyone in the previous 1642 posts mentioned Jimmy Johns? When we are who knows where and want a sandwich, I like it more than Subway. Certainly the bread is better. The standard order is turkey/bacon, and have not branched out too much, so I can’t vouch for the rest of the menu. I do have a hard time understanding why someone would want turkey, ham, roast beef all on the same sandwich. Dude, this is not your last sandwich ever! I like their peppers too, but I go “EZ” because I find them quite spicy. The only thing is that they don’t have the “steak and cheese” that is my standing order at Subway. Too far from Philly for the real deal but it’ll do.

No, but their commercials are hee-larious.

They’re a kitchy place. I haven’t seen their commercials, but their shops are full of full sayings all over the walls. Silly tongue in cheek things.

This is just an example:

Love Jimmy John’s! The Gargantuan and the Italian Night Club are my go-tos, and I loooooooove the Unwich.

If the search feature works, yours is the first specific mention as a favorite (@shrinkrap posted a link to a listing of “fast casual” that included JJ’s).

I like their Vito (capocollo/salami with provolone) and my family all have one they like there (or used to b4 dietary restrictions for one). My wife and I have eaten in all 3 of their first 3 stores.

I’ve found they vary considerably in quality by franchise, and wonder if corporate controls are a little loose.

I think I’ve had the vito before. I’ll go for turkey bacon when I’m feeling like I need a healthier choice  but I love a good Italian sandwich after I’ve done some type of big activity. I haven’t noticed much difference between locations, but it’s not something I eat often. I’d say that about almost all fast food. Probably one fast food meal every 2 months. Ish.

I once attended to a neighbor’s cat who was choking on a piece of chicken bone lodged in the poor thing’s upper palate. The kitty was tearing at his face with his claws trying to dislodge it. It took quite the effort to get it out of there. The cat must have picked it out of someone’s garbage. The cat became my cat almost immediately. It was love.

Lucky kitty! Lucky you! Your good deed brought you love-for-life with paws.

I boycott for reasons people boycott. Jersey Mike’s is better!

Could you elaborate?

The Goog says the founder hunts elephants.

He also makes political contributions some may not agree with. I’ve never been to a Jimmy John’s. I see there’s one within travelling distance of me. There’s also a Jersey Mike’s right up the street from them. Never been there either. I’ll vet them online for my own curiosity.

I’m a spoiled Philadelphian. I prefer to get my hoagies from local spots. We do have Subway, JJ’s and Jersey Mike’s, but I’ll never understand why.

The best hoagies I’ve had are from totally local sources with one location only. If I indulge, that’s where I’m headed.

I don’t order or eat FF sammiches (or pretty much any FF items), so I don’t have a horse or elephant in this race. I’d merely commented on the funny commercials.

That said, that’s disgusting.

Yeah, sort of like my issue with my favorite local hoagie spot–great food, reprehensible owner and employees. They do all the right things (i.e., contribute to community activities), but I can’t unhear what I overheard.

I intentionally chose not to lol. Off topic. I figure everyone can Google.

Aw. I believe the OT train has left the station weeks ago

Yeah, but I applaud @ChristinaM 's attempt to retrack.

I’ll put my vote in for Five Guys. The quality can vary from location to location, I think. Our local one is pretty consistently good though. I like the variety of toppings you can choose from. The fries will feed a small (or, maybe not so small) army. I like that they offer malt vinegar for them.

When I was growing up, one of our only local options for a while was a Dairy Queen, which I thought was a nice treat when we could go. Haven’t been to one in decades now. Is it still any good?
