I watched the first 2 episodes of Memory of a Killer, with Patrick Dempsey, on Fox and Hulu. I am really enjoying it.
We watched 4 episodes based on your recommendation, and might’ve watched the final 2 as well if an early morning appointment hadn’t been looming. Binge-worthy indeed!
Looking forward to finishing tonight, followed by the new Spinal Tap installment (with lowered expectations).
I’m glad that you are enjoying it! It’s pretty intense, and one of my favorite new shows of the year so far.
For Spinal Tap, keep watching to the end of the credits.
Good to know!
We watched The Game tonight.
We started Annika:
We’re huge big fans of Nicola Walker.
Love Annika!
I gave in and queue’d up The West Wing. Watching the pilot right now. It’s definitely scratching my post-Diplomat itch.
I saw The Smashing Machine, with Dwayne Johnson, on HBO. It was pretty good.
I second your assessment. Husband and I finished Bookish last night. There’s a series two on the way—2027 in the U.S.—so we can look forward to more.
As expected, Spinal Tap was nothing to write home about. Mildly amusing, but def not required viewing. I can’t believe these dudes are almost 80, tho ![]()
Sorta like the classic rock bands of my growing-up years (and still recently touring) years…
I guess when you love what you do for a living and are still able to do it… why not?
I’ll never understand what compels some of those bands (e.g. The Stones) to charge the outrageous ticket fees they do, but I guess greed comes in all ages ![]()
Well, they’re still fillint stadiums, so it apparently works for then. Personally, I was done with stadium shows around 1989, when they were still affrordable for a college student.
One of the greats, in my book ![]()
I’ve always much preferred smaller venues. Biggest I’ve been to was also my first show ever: 3 day open-air at Nürburgring with David Bowie, Eurythmics, Bob Geldof, UB40, Thompson Twins, and a handful other bands I don’t remember now. DB was the main reason for me to go.
Only open-air music fest I’ve been to is in Golden Gate Park annually, and is annual, though I’ve only been to one or two days depending on the acts (it’s free, bankrolled by a private equity banker billionaire). David Bowie was a teenage stadium show, as was the Stones, my first, the Tattoo You tour with a family friend; my first on my own with a friend was The Police’s Synchronicity tour (their final tour, it transpired). Also featured Thompson Twins, along with Madness, and, Oingo Boingo, and the Fixx, a real early-eighties snapshot. Kinda blew my mind that they held the same number as my college town proper. Smallest, probably a hundred people.
