Pretty boring, but I was pretty bored last night, so.. ![]()
BTDT. Sometimes ya just gotta take yer chances — as we did with the much lauded OBAA, but at least we had access to the pause button, martini fixins, and weed. Didn’t help much, but beats being stuck in a movie theatre ![]()
???
One Battle After Another. According to many, The Greatest Film of This Year.
Ah, gotcha.
Ima lazy bish & also the qween of acronyms ![]()
Our annual xmas tradition is to watch the brilliant Rare Exports,
and Bad Santa, or a selection of our favorite South Park xmas episodes.
However, given the lack of festive spirit at casa lingua today, we’ll continue binging Pluribus — but also cuz we love it ![]()
The krimmeh flicks can wait another day…
I just finished watching the first season of Warrior on HBO MAX. It’s pretty good. It’s based on a concept by Bruce Lee and was created by the same person that created Banshee (another very good show). There are some really good fight scenes, and the story telling is pretty good too. I’m looking forward to watching the other 2 seasons.
I didn’t feel like either Bad Santa OR Rare Exports when I got home last night, and my boo didn’t feel like South Park. What’s a girl to do?
We watched Trading Places, that other xmas classic ![]()
My PIC had never seen the entire movie, whereas I watched it many times growing up. It did not age well
, and I didn’t find it nearly as funny as I used to — but I also ended up watching the brunt of it by myself, as my boo retired early.
With a surprise appearance of a very young Al Franken. Well, everyone’s pretty young, as we all were ![]()
Perhaps tonight we’ll get to the other flicks…
We watched all of the new episodes of Stranger Things last night. Think it’s definitely jumped the shark but we feel the need to finish it. Final episode is on NYE. My prediction, based on nothing much, is that a main character (I’m not going to say which one) is going to die. I bet my husband a dollar! ![]()
It’s sleeting all day, so we got a head start on our mandatory xmas viewings.
Started off with the brilliant Blackadder’s Christmas Carol
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094754/
which made me want to rewatch the entire series again. Well, perhaps sans the weak first season.
Already in a Rowan Atkinson mood, we continued with Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean, followed by *Bad Santa, which remains just as funny as it ever was (I always forget the Coen Bros. were exec producers).
We just watched the excellent 2016 remake of The Magnificent Seven with Denzel Washington.
I just watched Bugonia on Peacock. That was one bizarre movie, with excellent performances by Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons.
Being a John Wick movie fan had to watch Wick is Pain on Netflix, kind of long but interesting to hear from the cast and crew.
We watched his new Christmas TV special on Netflix: Man vs Baby. It was ok. The baby seemed creepily CGI in several scenes.
Took a free week of Apple TV and watched F1. I like Brad Pitt more and more. I can’t believe he’s 63! Tonight we are renting Nuremberg. Looking forward to it.
We only watched the first episode and I didn’t laugh once — Man vs. Bee was so much funnier!
Plus I almost always find babies creepy in some way ![]()
Watched first episode of Drops of Gold on Apple TV and found it interesting. I guess a new season drops in January so will have to get through the next 7 episodes. Also going to check out new Karen Pirie on BritBox and have heard great things about BLue Lights set in Belfast.
I enjoyed the holiday episodes of Tournament of Champions. Watch on my iPad so I can fast forward Guy Fieri.
Finished Pluribus. I would give it 7/10. It kept my interest, mostly, but while I do see all the BIG QUESTIONS and METAPHORS, I’m not all that wowed by them. Maybe if I wasn’t already well-familiar with other sci-fi movies and series that have very similar themes.
Warrior sounds good.
We have been enjoying the Blue Lights and Down Cemetery Road episodes as they come out on BritBox.
We finished Mr. Mercedes. I hated parts of it, but I like some of the actors. We tend to finish what we start
….
I think we will start The Capture next.
