after watching Broadchurch

Broadchurch was largely filmed in the Dorset village of West Bay . We visited in 2022. Had OK fish & chips at the harbour. Great fish but only so-so chips.

One of several huts round the harbour selling fish and chips. They all have a few tables nearby where you can eat your lunch, hopefully keeping it away from the marauding sea gulls. The fish, which I think was haddock, was fantastic. I struggle to think of anywhere I’ve eaten that has as light and crisp batter. Fish inside perfectly cooked. By the by, we dropped Django Unchained last night as it was longer than we wanted to watch for. Instead The Big Sleep (1946) - really excellent Bogart & Bacall movie. Good plot and a sharp script for its time with the two of them playing off each other really well.
