so 70s…
might see billy joel later this year, this is my favorite of his
the 70s without Emmylou wouldn’t have been nearly as awesome
some of you here know i really like mott the hoople (and their version of this on all the young dudes–every cut on that album is a hit to quote ian faith)… but gotta tip your hat to paul rogers too…man can sing
Billy Joel’s The Stranger is a monster of an album no bad songs at all. Would be great to see him live indeed.
Yeah this could be the last chance, never know. He’s got a fair amount of stuff that i’m not really a huge fan of too…well in the 80s Nylon Curtain was in my cassette box and it’s a guilty pleasure still
also in my cassette collection…
huge fan still and rare music me and my partner both like - we see em every chance we get!

Rory Gallagher crowned Ireland’s greatest musician in poll (planetradio.co.uk)

I was thinking about Chicago as well when we were discussing 70s songs. They have some great songs (and not so great ones too).
The song that always balances me. Sht hits the fan, interview coming up, this is what gets me right.
I was lucky enough to see one of the Frippertronics record store concerts back then. Just Bob, his guitar, and 2 Revoxes.
From the same era
don’t know the full line up here but three drum kits !
Respighi, The Pines of Rome
And Dick Heckstall-Smith, who also shows up on Jack’s Songs for a Tailor, one of my favorite “Post Cream” albums.
