Any Canterbury fans here? I enjoy Gong, Steve Hillage, Caravan, etc.
This whole record is really nice
The Gong Flying Teapot Trilogy is pretty epic stuff too for this music fan - I really don’t know another rock band that more successfully incorporates horns, reed instruments and speedy jazz drumming especially.
whole record is a trip waiting to happen
Caravan, the vocals anyways, may appeal to your new wave side @damiano - obviously kicked up and a decade before all that
hard to believe this is over 40 years old it seems like yesterday
Don’t know if you are on FB, but the Canterbury Scene group is a lot of fun.
Cool! I’m not on it but I have connections lol. Steve Hillage is awesome thanks for that. Those Rockpalast videos are consistently solid.
That’s a nice song!
Reminds me a bit of Midlake.
Cool - I’ll check it out.
bottom cover reminds me of one of my favorites!
nice i like it never heard of em before!
My favorite singer, even though I don’t speak Spanish, despite having a Portuguese/Spanish last name.
I remember when this album came out, I was in my early to mid teens. Their hits were in the charts, just like all the Stock Aitken and Waterman and all other hits from that time. It’s only so many years later that one can truly see the quality of this song. Up there with some of their best songs.
This is beautiful. That Miriam Makeba song immediately puts me in a good mood, and I have to dance when it comes on (like the song lyrics imply ).
Spotify wrapped 2022: 87k minutes listened.
No 1 song, The Smiths ‘Well I Wonder’, no 2 Roxy Music ‘True to life’, no 3 Francis Lai ‘Plus fort que nous instrumental’.
The first two songs I had posted earlier, so here is no 3.
I’ve been listening to “For Youth” by BTS. the lyrics are powerful
A favorite song on one of my favorite albums of all times.
smooth like butter!
