The fabulously talented singer/songwriter I saw last night.
Yeah, when I met him he had just come off stage after performing at a sold out arena - this was right after their Green album, so probably peak popularity, and he just kind of blended in no rock star pretensions, I almost didn’t recognize him when my roommate said hello.
Apropos of basically nothing and absolutely a thread drift but, since we’re snowed in I thought I’d share:
My wife and I were in a restaurant in Florence Italy while we rented for a month from a landlord who lived in the suburbs and had toured us around, including showing us where Sting had an estate. The table of 8 next to us were talking in English about staying in that area so I decided to impress them with my knowledge and inform them that Sting had an estate there and they should check it out. They all laughed and introduced themselves as his driver, lawyer, chef, etc. I tried to get an invite but no luck.
By the way, did I ever mention that I saw Mick Jagger completely nude at maybe a 3-4 foot distance? If not, for another day. ![]()
Pics or it didn’t happen ![]()
Suffice it to say that my wife (& several of our friends), have asked “so?”. I have to admit, I didn’t look. Retrospectively, not my brightest moment. It was a locker room - he played squash.
One of my favorite videos of all time. So good.
If you are so inclined, second leg of tour on sale Friday.
Nov 9, 2026 in Toronto. Maybe I’ll check them out.

In the old days tickets stuck on the fridge wouldn’t last that long. Guess the powers that be need to make sure they won’t lose any money. Tough to be a touring/any musician these days.
Nov 16 Philly show for me
Please no
Last album tough to top. So far so good.

At least you leave a percentage open. Life is short. Go to shows.
I will until I can’t bother anyone anymore to take me.
