Both need the time they take.
Yep
Still salty that she left us with such a limited œuvre. Imagine her stylings maturing à la Ella.
When life gives you lemons…
This Thursday live House of Independents Asbury Park.
Aw, my first band ever covered that song!
Well, turns out this is just some AI slop, so I swiftly removed it from our “to do” list.
I can likely come up with similar lyrics & better music, anyway ![]()

Has anyone (@brisket44, @KAOSKitchen perhaps) gone to the Narducy-led Lifes Rich Pageant tour? They’ll be in Boston soon and I’m itching to go…if it’s worth the effort. R.E.M. is a band I regret never seeing live but I wonder if this would be a satisfying substitute?
B and I have both loved Snail Mail since she was so freaking young. The talent!!
No, they played in SF recently, but I’m at the stage where 80 percent of the shows I see have to be on a Friday or Saturday night lol - I can’t do weekdays and function properly at work the next day.
I saw R.E.M. in 1989 at the Meadowlands in NJ, big arena. My roommate at the time was from Athens and knew Michael Stipe from there, so we chatted a bit in the lobby after the show - he was really low key.
More like 100% for me. Boston show is a Friday night, which, aside from LRP being my favorite REM album, makes it even more tempting.
He and a couple of his bandmates happened to sit at the table next to us at a beer garden in Berlin the summer they were recording an album in Berlin in 2010. I wasn’t sure at first whether it was him, bc there are lots of middle-aged bald guys in that city ![]()
My PIC confirmed my suspicion. Nobody bothered them, of course, including us. They had absolutely zero pretensions.
Haha - I’m probably exaggerating - more like 90% for me. I’m seeing Courtney Barnett on a Thursday this summer, and saw Amyl and the Sniffers on a Tuesday, so I make exceptions.
But if your show is on a Friday I vote you do it - I’ve never regretted going to a show, only regretting not going.
