I really need to listen to her album - itâs been recommended to me by several peeps now.
Under the Pink has held up really well over time. Definitely a favourite of mine. I still remember discovering her first album in our local record store when it came out in the early 90s, as a student, and then a few years later dancing to this song below in the clubs.
I remember first seeing the video to Silent All These Years back when MTV still did music videos. I was immediately captured, and have seen her live a few times. She did a fantastic version of Feels Like Teen Spirit as her encore at the first gig I caught her.
Picking a favorite album is tricky, but Iâm partical to her debut, Under the Pink, and From the Choirgirl Hotel, although Boys for Pele was also quite good.
She eventually lost me when she started sounding like a bad parody of herself - the last album I got was The Beekeeper.
But yeah - what an Ĺuvre!
I cannot waittttt for her new album to drop.
Last night, Fillmore SF.
Iâve seen a lot of live music in my lifetime but Yo La Tengo is the band Iâve seen the most times live - always a good show, never quite the same.
