Bee Gees on PBS pledge program tonight. Waiting for âTragedyâ.
âWordsâ (one of the first songs Iearned to play on the guitar 54 years ago! ) played earlier. Yep, Iâm that old.
A great loss. Timely or divine intervention that he won not one but three Grammies this year.
The concerts I most enjoyed were with him and Pt. Shivkumar Sharma. A few times when he accompanied Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia who was on the flute and Pt. Amjad Ali Khan on the Sarod. And a memorable percussion-only concert with his brother Taufiq and spectacular percussionists on different instruments.
Tangerine Dream - I actually donât know them that well, but thatâs a great piece of music! Will check out the album.
Reminds me a little of Vangelis. He made one of my (the) favourite soundtracks of all time, in Blade Runner. This song below though is from another album.
Listened to radio Tangerine Dream on spotify, where they mix their music with that from others. Nice to see this song by Art of Noise as a bridge to the electronic music I love from the period thereafter, up until the mid 90s.
Tangram, Set One starting at 8:00 is my lullaby.
Francois Adrien Boildeau piano concerto. Today is his birthday. He is at times referred to as the French Mozart. If that is the case, France does not produce Mozarts of near the caliber Austria does. Meh.
Today is also Beethovenâs birthday!
German Beethovens and Bachs beat French Mozarts!
Composer smack!
Ă propos of exactly nothing, I just couldnât bear to listen to Sirius/XM news today in the car - so I did the Symphony channel. Beethoven string quartet (I donât even remember which one). I felt so elevated by the time I got home. Itâs helpful to be reminded that human beings are capable of great things.
That poor girl!
