Some more Quincy Jones appreciation. There is also a documentary on netflix (at least there was, watched it a year ago or so).
Quincy doc is on Netflix.
I stumbled across a charming podcast yesterday - Bird Joy. Two men of color who lead birding groups in their cities (Philly and Madison) and speak across a range of bird and bird-adjacent topics. The first show of this season, they interviewed Chris Cooper, the New Yorker who was accosted by a white woman who called the cops and accused him of threatening her. I am a failed (but keep trying!) birder. Unless the mofos stand still for about 10 minutes or are a large raptor, I am unable to identify. Anyway, listen to the pod. Enjoyable, non-political, bird song clips interspersed with discussion.

I sense a mood…
He put her on the map. She went solo and wrote this for him:
Still trying to find footage of him taking stage, tugging pant leg at about knee to raise cuff, and showing off boots before singing:
Damn J&M Chain sound great, I should have gone to that show!
Thank you!
In about 30 minutes the old cough medicine (the one with codeine innit!) I found waaaaay back in the bathroom closet should be kicking in and…maybe I can sleep tonight instead of having a coughing fit every 15 minutes. Comfortably numb woukd be nice. Day 5 of the ‘covid’ cold, and I feel I may be on the mend!
