What are you listening to? 2024

I was listening to this song for the first time a few days ago, while cooking something in the kitchen. This was playing in the background as part of a youtube playlist.

I honestly thought this was an older recording as it sounds so good still. But no - this is relatively recent and the spotlight doesn’t even go to Bryan Ferry but to his band mates.

Really worth a listen!

A high school favorite!

Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble Live at Austin, Texas in 1989.

Arguably the best blues guitar player EVER - yes, I’m biased.

His band Double Trouble is also one of my favourite bands ever, highly talented all of them.

It was a sad day, when we lost SRV.

I had some hep.

Miles On It - A little racy, but catchy tune.

This is one of my all time favourite tracks, no matter the category or timestamp.

I was a little kid when this was released, but when I got old enough to appreciate it, boy was I a fan.

So simple, so easy going, yet so masterfully produced and performed by Donald Fagan.

I’m often against how the USA conducts its policy and way of life (also before Trump) and how it effects the western world, but still USA saved our azz in WWII and when I listen to tracks like this from Donald Fagan, I realise the USA can do something unique that we just can’t do in Europe.

“International Geophysical Year”

A masterpiece in my opinion.

Another masterpiece which I also only could see would come from the USA.

I listen to this track a lot at the moment.
I love the disco groove mixed with violins an an electric guitar.

Just a great laid back easy going disco track.

Agreed

Our public radio station is having their pledge week now. Tomorrow, Wednesday is Public Radio Music Day. All I’m hearing is lots of talk, actually their pleas for us listeners to donate, and much reduced quality music programming. The ‘hosts’ seem to be getting more aggressive and frezied every year with their spiel; one is now telling us that our donations pay for them to be there, brightening up our day. Soooo, I turn to another station, during these talk marathons, where there is very little talk, few ads and lots if music. Yes, I do donate and do so several times a year. You get what you pay for, I guess.
