What are you baking? November 2024

Chocolate banana muffins, a small batch. A loose amalgamation of several different chocolate/banana breads, these are small, just a couple of bites of chocolate goodness.

I made it based on recs here, and that’s not an incorrect description — it was pretty wet inside.

If you’re looking to try a different recipe sometime, the one-bowl recipe from Epi I reported here has been very reliable since the first time I tried it and is now the family standard across all family locations :joy:.

Thank you, I read through all the comments and your photo and agree, I don’t think that’s quite the style for me. I will try the one you recommend now.

Thank you for posting that it also sinks for you. I feel less incompetent :joy:. It tasted delicious – I just don’t remember it sinking last time. The coconut strips on top of the cake are :ok_hand:t2::+1:t2:

My current favorite apple bake is Snackable Bakes Better than Apple Pie Bars. I plan to make it tomorrow for a pot luck on Friday. Really easy and delicious. My apple chunks are usually much larger than yours appear to be - 1.5 to 2 inches square. Hope you soon find the “perfect” cake for you. I have 30 recipes in my baking folder for apple cake (not counting those that use applesauce).

Thanks, BG! No particular reason, they “kinda” stuck together a bit when I was removing them from their container and I didn’t bother to separate them. As it turned out, the cupcakes stuck slightly to the liners. They are not a liner I usually use.

all of this talk of apple cake… and that’s what I made last night! But it was the Mostly Apple cake from Snacking Cakes, without nuts ( I don’t like them, and there was some allergies in the group). Doubled and baked in a 9X13 for 40 minutes. Took them to a training with my new team, and they seemed to like it!

Can’t bring myself to bake, but I wanted something sweet. It’s cold here finally, so: first hot chocolate of the season. It’ll have to do.

Does anyone have a favorite oatmeal wheat bread recipe? I’m specifically looking for one with oats for cholesterol.

And the bathrooms have never been cleaner (laughing and crying and pulling out hair).
