[West Didsbury, Manchester] Pomegranate

A home delivery meal from a new place for us. It’s a shortish menu of Iranian food. In truth, my partner found there was quite a restricted choice of dishes she fancied, not least as she was going down a vegan road.

So, she started with what was a side salad – salad fasl –tomato, pepper, red onion and cucumber. And followed that with a mixed vegetable kebab – marinated aubergine, asparagus, courgette, mushroom, pepper and shallot. It was all OK but just a bit boring.

My own starter was kooko sabzi – a flavoursome herb frittata, served with a yoghurt dip and a bit of salad. For a main course, jojeh anari kebab. Chunks of chicken marinated in garlic and pomegranate sauce which gave it a background hint of sharp/sweet. We shared rice and a plain flatbread.

It was an OK dinner and made a nice change from cooking but we’d be in no rush to order from them again.
