[Wells Next The Sea, Norfolk] Bang

I don’t think Wells has a “proper” greasy spoon café but it does have a number of poshish places that’ll do you breakfast, lunch or snacks. What I liked about Bang was its short menu and the fact that everything is available all day. So, you want a fish finger butty for breakfast? Bang is the place to get it.

For us, it was more traditional brekkie food. Three thick American style pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. Light pancakes, crisp bacon. Syrup that just tasted of a generic “sweet” so, presumably, not very good quality maple.

The “Full English” was exactly that. Sausage (from the butchers just down the road), bacon, black pudding, fried eggs, beans, hash brown, mushrooms, two thick slices of granary toast. It was the sort of “Full” that had you wanting a bit of a lie down, rather than getting on with the day. So, we compromised and went back to the house to read the papers before considering anything more active.
