It’s similar for vanilla… and chocolate… and cattle and soy to feed livestock… and timber. Nevermind what’s happening with fish, almonds, etc. It’s got to get much, much worse before we collectively agree on taking action on any of it, though. My guess is the people who are our youngest children right now will be the adults who face the brunt of it, and they will be forced to do what they can to adapt.

Yes, future generations will be fucked unless we get our collective shit together. I’m not optimistic (and grateful to be older & not have offspring to worry about).

Our avocado tree is too young to bear fruit yet, but I’m hoping it will in the next few years. We try to get avocados from the farm in my town when we can.
