Weird sh!t you do with food

one of many quirks i picked up from my mother.

I don’t eat KitKats often, but when I do, I need to break off each piece and nibble the chocolate between them before I eat the wafer part.

I am the same way with apples. It all goes in my mouf except for the stem.

The kiwi skin, OTOH…

Souvlaki. Has to be a chunka meat, tzatziki, and a little red onion on my fork or I’ll get real salty… especially when one component falls back on the plate.

I live in maple syrup country and I don’t really drink. (I tapped my own sugar maple trees,when I was a kid )

How much are you paying for maple syrup where you live?

Big Maple has been advertising on Billboards in Toronto lately, so it probably is having an effect on me.

Lately, whenever I am travelling around Ontario and Quebec, and I see local maple syrup for sale, I buy a bottle or 2. I have been doing the same with coffee and olive oil. (Some Portugese, Greek, and Italian restaurants and bakeries in Canada sell smaller batch olive oil if they have a connection in the old country)

Cheerios with chocolate milk. (I picked that idea up in Germany, when I was 14)

I greatly enjoy removing all the white bits. Now that I actually have fingernails (biter until last year :scream:) even more so :slight_smile:

Currently £4 for a 250g bottle of 100% Canadian MS.

For quality stuff, between $5 and $10 for 8oz. Significantly less for a larger container; down to $0.50/oz if I buy a half gallon, but then I need to worry about storing a half gallon. Being in New England, I only purchase Vermont syrup. But even with Vermont syrups at the same grades (I always get the Dark Amber one) there’s a big range. If I buy some at a grocery store it’s going to be a lot thinner and less flavorful than what I can get if I order directly from a small producer.

I’m usually paying between $13 CAD and $20 CAD for 500 ml, from smaller producers. I usually buy 500 ml or 1 litre bottles or jugs, and keep it out fridge once opened. Any larger becomes difficult to pour.

It’s a little cheaper at Mennonite businesses.

I always choose the glass bottle or plastic jug over the metal can.

I spotted this today. Spiced Maple, at Sanagan’s in Toronto.

I buy British when I can. Your Cadbury Creme Eggs continue to be superior to Canadian Cadbury Creme Eggs. Your HP sauce and Heinz Beans are better than ours, too.

I saw a kid doing this the other day and my mind was blown. Honey nut cheerios and chocolate milk.

My HS math teacher’s 13-yr old daughter used to eat frozen french fries straight from the freezer :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

I like to pierce green peas on each of my fork’s tines.

Not sure how uncommon it is, but i completely peel bananas and toss the skin before eating them. Most people peel the skin down as they eat a banana.
