Last trip down to visit with mom and dad before we leave for Iceland/Norway on Wednesday for a long-a$$ time. Back on Labor Day.
Saturday lunch at Dune Brothers in Riverside. Fish and chips, lobster rolls, nice vinegary slaw, very nice fries, RI clear clam chowder (not pictured), and we sent them home with a takeout order of the squid salad, which they enjoyed. Love this place—great vibe and people and the adjacent park and carousel are awesome.
The 3 of us had lunch on Sunday without the ‘rents at Chomp in Warren. Kids cheeseburger + bacon for SO (who took the food photos), some ridiculous chopped beef + potato chip sandwich for B, which he declared was delicious and our server said it was one of the most popular menu items. He had a couple of good beers—an IPA I think from Pivotal and something from Fiddlehead that was new-to-him (an Imperial IPA). I tried the Asian-y lo mein, which was fine but too salty. Drank boatloads of water along with my wine. Fun lunch!
We’ll try to be a little more creative on this trip.
