We Have Seen the Future of Food. It's Pizza Cupcakes and Dehydrated Oat Milk.

Yay?

If this is the future, it may be coming time for me to slash my wrists.

I’ll definitely try the noodles when I see them. And maybe I’d grab the poached eggs just to have on hand. (Depends on their shelf life.) Pretty underwhelming list to be sure.

The instant sourdough sounds interesting. But the price? For $66 it will make about 100 loaves, so I’m guessing it’s geared towards foodservice or bakeries and not the home cook. I would be tempted to try it in a smaller quantity, maybe 5 or 6 loaves worth for under $10.

Im just not seeing much that looks interesting in that list.

Lots of dairy…not for me.

The powdered oat milk caught my eye in terms of my hurricane box, but if it needs a blender then its utterly useless in trying to survive without power.

If I’m going to heat eggs in boiling water I might as well go ahead and cook them.

All written by someone whose byline says her pinnacle of culinary success is cooking gallons of chocolate pudding to test saucepans. (Not even refining chocolate pudding)

Meh from me too. The oat milk sold me on reducing packaging and emissions from delivery of bulk items, but if you have to invest in a blender, why not just make your own oat milk? I have a blender, but that is way too much work every time I want a bowl of cereal. Pass.

I do look forward to a better cookie dough, if they have interesting enough flavors.
