Vegas strip and deuce not too $$

Friends. Looking for any cuisine, any meal, where the food is really tasty and the price not crazy. We’ll be on the strip and also have a deuce pass. Hoping to keep the meals (entrees only and maybe a soda) to $25ish pp most of the time with an occasional splurge where we might go to $40 pp. 3 days in March.

My favorite nyc thai chef relocated to Vegas. Not sure where this is relative to your location, but next time I’m in Vegas I’ll be seeking it out. (If you go, I’ll gladly share my favorite dishes on her menu.)

Some ideas from a Vegas tourist:

+1 Lotus of Siam, love the garlic prawns and the crispy duck panang. Note - apparently the LoS inside the Red Rock Casino is not as good and run by a different branch of the family. The one on E. Flamingo is the one to go to.
Miznon (In the Palazzo at the Venetian) - Israeli / Mediterranean fast casual.
Shang Artisan Noodle (Chinatown) - handmade noodles, great beef noodle soup.
Big Dan Shanxi Taste (Chinatown) - great Shanxi food inside a supermarket.
Chengdu Taste (Chinatown) - Vegas branch of the acclaimed SGV Sichuan restaurant.
Peppermill (North Strip) - classic Vegas neon diner with huge portions.
Tacos El Gordo (North Strip) - Vegas branch of the Tijuana based taco chain.
Carnitas y Tortas Ahogadas Guadalajara (North Strip) - really good tortas ahogadas / “drowned” tortas.
Pizza Rock (Downtown Las Vegas) - I haven’t been here myself but have been to several of owner Tony Gemignani’s pizza restaurants here in SF and they are all high quality. Evel Pie in Downtown Las Vegas is also good for a slice and is open late.
The Crack Shack (in the Park MGM) - Vegas branch of the San Diego fried chicken restaurant.

There’s also some casino food courts that fit your budget and have restaurants other than the typical chains. Resorts World has Famous Foods Street Eats with pan-Asian street food style restaurants. There is an Eataly in the Park MGM if you’re after some Italian food. And if you are near the Cosmopolitan, their food court has Vegas outposts of Portland (Oregon)'s Lardo, Nashville’s Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, and LA’s Eggslut among its offerings. Also in the Cosmopolitan is a not so secret pizza place on its third floor.

There’s also In-N-Out Burger in the Linq Promenade if you don’t have one near where you live.

+1 on the Peppermill - beware there can often be a line, at least for breakfast/brunch. We were able to bypass it on our visit by asking to eat in the bar (where the cool neon and fire pits are).

Thank you Mr Happy. I saw your write up but your price point was very much higher than mine. Always feeding 4, plus we want to splurge on some shows.

I’m so glad I tried Pam’s food in NYC. @buttertart had recommended some dishes years ago.

For good coffee, sandwiches, baked goods that are a treat, but are still relatively affordable, there’s a location of Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery in the Venetian.

I have been to a Bouchon Bakery in Manhattan several times, for a breakfast of a coffee and a pastry.

I like the food at Miznon here in Toronto.

I also like EggSlut. LOL

Mr_Happy knows what he’s talking about!

I still haven’t been to Vegas. I have passed by Vegas on the train on my way to Los Angeles, but I didn’t stop. I had planned a few trips to Vegas over the years, but they never happened.

Best Friend - Roy Choi’s restaurant in the Park MGM (right next to Eataly) is a lot of fun. Highly recommend the fried chicken!

We also really enjoyed BLT burger at the Mirage, and Raku — off-strip, and it’s probably more of a splurge now than … 16 years ago. Wow. Time sure does fry :flushed:
