Vaughan/Woodbridge Recommendations?

We have reason to lunch in Vaughan tomorrow. I looked around, but I don’t see any chat about Vaughan/Woodbridge. I suppose we can always go back to our local, reliable favourite, Anna Maria Trattoria, but something new would be nice.

There are quite a few Turkish restaurants and a couple Turkish bakeries that have opened up in Vaughan, if that floats your boat.

I never make it that far north in the GTA these days so I haven’t tried any of them out.

For Italian places, I have enjoyed Mastro Roberto Trattoria

and St Phillips Bakery.

I like the porchetta sandwich from Eddystone Meats. It’s nothing fancy, but it tastes good, especially with some veggie toppings from the hot table. The butchers are excellent and the selection of various meats and sausages is very good. Their Barese sausage is a favourite here. When the butcher department is busy, someone comes around with complimentary espresso to take the edge off the wait. There is also a decent stock of Italian pantry items.

Edit to add: just want to clarify that this is not a restaurant. There are tables where you can eat lunch, but if you’re looking for elegant ambiance this isn’t the place.
