Updates and running commentary from our critters

I like his bigger eyes as well. The breeder says that Armani is her favorite. He has very blue eyes, and might grow up to have a little blue tint in his green eyes, which is rare. We don’t have to worry about his eyes tearing. She also says that he is always by her side, and is like a rag doll. You can just pick him up and hold him and he is very laid back in your arms. He sounds like a real love bug

Since our two hellions absolutely shredded one of their scratching posts, I decided to get them a new one. It was love at first sight for Jake.

Here he is being eternally grateful for his present:

That is, until his idiot brother jumped on the bed and jerked him out of his sweet slumber.

Cats are so high strung, swatting, aggressive. I told someone once that I much preferred dogs and cats to humans, saying look how murderous humans are.

He pointed out that if cats could use guns, they would. I really thought about that a while, then agreed. Cats have hair trigger tempers, want to fight for no good reason.

They’re just playing. And neither of our previous cats were “high-strung, swatting, or aggressive.”

That said, they are killing machines & would decimate the critters in our backyard / nabe if they ever were let outside, and likely did so before we adopted them. They are hunters by nature.

The second photo should be captioned “Hi mommy! We’re not doing anything”.

That is the look they have whenever we hear a noise in the other room and walk in :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I have never in my life owned a high strung or aggressive cat.

One of my current heathens had to learn that playing did not mean using claws (he was semi feral). He still plays rough, but he also understands a command for “soft paws”

My other heathen is the most laidback and passive boi I’ve ever shared my life with. His sole goal in life is to lay along my leg rumbling his content. Hes the one that the rescue said was the leader of a large cat colony that they trapped and rehabbed. My boi was in rough shape after a coyote attack, and I cant look at this gentle, living ball of floof and think of him being a tough guy.

I hate answering myself but since the toy picture was already uploaded - I submitted a critical review on Chewy about the sturdiness of the toy - and I got an email from them that they were refunding my money!(I hadn’t asked for a refund)I have found them to be very accommodating and helpful in the past, so I bought Z moar toyz, of course.

I think I’m at 7 in my house at one time or another, too. Then you add in my mom’s, sister’s, and friends’ cats, and it’s a fsirly big colony

Chewy is a great company! Everything we order from them usually arrives amazingly fast.

Great customer service. When I told my former son-in-law, from India, that I’d brought back an item to Bed Bath & Beyond for replacement because a piece of the plastic broke off, he was amazed.

He said if he told people in India this they would accuse him of lying.

Ditto - I’ve had 8 so far - all were fun to play with, but never high strung or aggressive. Murphy is probably the most scaredy cat I’ve had; he was a true stray, living on his own for awhile before his rescue, so he can be a bit jumpy if I come in too fast for him. But that’s about it.
