I’m about to watch Unfrosted, Jerry Seinfeld’s new Netflix movie about the creation of the Pop Tart. I thought it deserved a thread. Review to come later.
Funny, a little like a Mel Brooks movie.

I used to like Jerry Seinfeld, but the older I get, the more smarmy he seems. Plus, I find that I’m more and more uncomfortable with how his relationship with his wife started. Kinda creeps me out. It’s unfortunately, because I really feel his taste in cars.
A quick google search says they had a chance encounter at a NYC gym, and got married a year later. Am I missing some salacious deets here?

Probably referring to his first wife Soshanna. She was 17 and a senior in high school when Jerry approached her in Central Park and got her number. Howard Stern had a lot of fun with it.

No, again, Jerry Seinfeld and Shoshanna Lonstein were never married. Jessica Sklar is his wife, and when Jerry and she met, she was someone else’s very new wife.

I’m guessing the uproar is over 38 yr old Jerry hitting on 17 yr old Shoshanna, whether they got married or not. But really, only @ricepad can clarify.
Yeah, I was thinking of Shoshanna. I thought they married, but I guess I got that part wrong. Still, she was in HIGH SCHOOL, and he was what, 35? 38? Something like that. Apparently he’s quite a bit older than his wife, too, but at least she was an adult when their relationship started.

I had a math teacher in HS who we all knew was a creep: he was always trying to look down girls’ tops as he bent over their desks to offer help, especially the bustier ones. A few years after I graduated, he capped his creepiness by marrying a former student. He was in his 40s at the time, and I think she had just finished college, so early 20s. He left his first wife for her.
Mine too, albeit in college. Actually he was a teacher. I don’t know if he was her teacher

Yikes. What did your mom and dad think of your news clippings? And I bet you never took THOSE to share for “current events”!
I wasn’t born when this was news, and obviously they were well aware at the time, what with yellow press reporters documenting their relationship.
