On a quick errand to a nearby Target store yesterday (Massachusetts) I noticed a well-stocked section of treats suitable for gift bags and Christmas stockings, including this little sampler of Fly by Jing chili crisp, mala spice mix, and zhoug sauce. Not expecting this.
Besides plenty of items under Target’s Favorite Day brand (unfamiliar to me), there was lots of Lindt/Lindor chocolate, some Hu chocolate bars, mini pack of Walker’s shortbread, Terry’s chocolate oranges, and a bunch of name-brand sweets in festive packaging.
Items zoom off the shelves at my nearby store, but if you find yourself at a well-stocked Target with a gift list to fill you might be able to save some steps. I am a reluctant holiday shopper—not my thing—so I am all about saving those steps.
Not yet. LOL, I need to come clean and reveal that I bought the sampler so my husband could include it in my Christmas stocking. I had to explain to him what Fly by Jing was.
A larger Tar-jhay is a town away by highway, so I’ll wait. If it’s there, I’ll try things out. If it’s not? I’ve got enough crap food in my house to keep me fat and happy for awhile.
I hear you. At the mention of Pepperidge Farm I remembered a chocolate cookie assortment we used to always get around the holidays. So I checked–they don’t carry it at my local Target and it’s out of stock at my local Giant. Then I remembered I still have Halloween candy in the house. Not to mention bags of chips and melting chocolate, a new supply of Penzey’s cocoa and Vanilla, unopened bags of flour and sugar, etc. Yep, a blizzard could come tomorrow and I’d be good for the sweets until Easter
