Smash burgers are indeed everywhere these days — a trend I applaud, bc when they’re done right they’re pretty fab. I also love smashed cukes, but they’ve been around in Sichuan and other Chinese cuisines forevah. Smashed potatoes properly fried up are also delicious.
I had no idea that the NYT dumpling salad (or someone else’s iteration) had started a trend, either. The version I had at a friend’s place was decidedly underwhelming.
Hot honey beef bowl? No thank you.
Matcha (bleh) is also everywhere & in everything, but easy to avoid, thankfully. Like most food trends
