This sucks. No other way to put it. I don’t think the US is that far behind this, based on casual observation in my local area. For every local neighborhood or small business that closes up, the space gets replaced by another chain outlet (high-end or fast/casual) and it’s disheartening. Boston does not need another outpost of a steak chain - we have plenty, and quite frankly I never visit them unless it’s a business dinner someone else set up - nor do we need our eleventy billionth Sweet Greens with overpriced basic salads.
