Trattoria Amerigo 1934 (Bologna)

One of the most well known restaurants serving cuisine from Emilia-Romagna is Trattoria da Amerigo https://amerigo1934.com/ about 40km outside of Bologna. The drive to it is already great through small streets in the hills around Bologna. The restaurant is celebrating 90 years and has a Michelin star for more than 30 years. Beside the a la carte menu, it also has two shorter tasting menus which might be some of the most affordable one anywhere - and the food, service and ambience is outstanding. It’s not that easy to get there but so worth it.

Looks like they may have upped their game! Not sure about that parmigiano gelato though as an a companiment to tigelle

Parmigiano gelato seems to be quite popular in general as we have seen it also at other restaurants

Did you like it? I dont know if i would appreciate something cold, melting and sweet on my hot tigelle

The tigelle weren’t overly hot but more lukewarm on purpose and they paired really good with the gelato (which is also in general served warmer than regular ice cream). The gelato wasn’t overly sweet and had a very pronounced savory taste.
Trattoria Da Me in Bologna had even several different cheeses (stracchino, robiola and gorgonzola) as gelato as an appetizer (we didn’t take it but it looked really good)
