Trader Joe’s Product Reviews – YEA/NAY/MEH – 2025 Edition

Honestly, we’re always so full. I’m so tired from all the work that I usually have almost no appetite for dinner.

Last year Costco manager gave me a pumpkin pie. I made delicious whipped cream, had one big bite. Later I found out my daughter gave the rest of that pie to a guest. I would have enjoyed some the next day!

Whenever we go out for a nice meal there’s hardly ever room for dessert. On the rare occasion an offering sounds too great to pass up, we split it.

At Original Joe’s Westlake SF recently we ordered one Tiramisu with 5 spoons. It was just right. 2 guests were visiting from India and they’d never had tiramisu before! Loved it.

Yeah, we’ve shared a dessert or two between a table of 6 before. I just don’t need a lot of sweet stuff, especially if I’m pleasantly sated by the savories I’ve had already.

Be aware these need to defrost/proof for 5 to 7 hours first. Good item to set out before bedtime and then bake first thing in the AM. I’m pretty sure a longer proofing will still work with it.

YEA to the Boozy Bottles, 9 little dark chocolate bottles filled with Cognac. Just enough of a hit to make dessert interesting. :slightly_smiling_face:

This is what I did last Friday night with two friends - a single Vanilla Crème Brûlée 3 spoons. The few bites we each had was perfect for all of us.

We’re usually too full for dessert, but if there is a really good dessert on the menu, we will have it to go. By the time we have finished our 1 hour drive home, and get changed, we manage to find some room for dessert

That was our MO in Philly. One of the places that became a bit of a regular stop for us makes a ridiculously delicious and ginormous tahini butter cake with espresso ganache frosting. There has never been a dinner where even a spoon would’ve been out of the question… BUT, take it home and have a few forks 2 hours later?

Perfect!

I never thought I’d find anything saltier than Fritos until I ate TJs dippers. Can’t taste anything other than salt. (And I love salt.)

Sorry, that should actually say tahini buttercream cake. There. Now it makes sense
