Honestly, we’re always so full. I’m so tired from all the work that I usually have almost no appetite for dinner.
Last year Costco manager gave me a pumpkin pie. I made delicious whipped cream, had one big bite. Later I found out my daughter gave the rest of that pie to a guest. I would have enjoyed some the next day!
At Original Joe’s Westlake SF recently we ordered one Tiramisu with 5 spoons. It was just right. 2 guests were visiting from India and they’d never had tiramisu before! Loved it.
Yeah, we’ve shared a dessert or two between a table of 6 before. I just don’t need a lot of sweet stuff, especially if I’m pleasantly sated by the savories I’ve had already.
Be aware these need to defrost/proof for 5 to 7 hours first. Good item to set out before bedtime and then bake first thing in the AM. I’m pretty sure a longer proofing will still work with it.
We’re usually too full for dessert, but if there is a really good dessert on the menu, we will have it to go. By the time we have finished our 1 hour drive home, and get changed, we manage to find some room for dessert
That was our MO in Philly. One of the places that became a bit of a regular stop for us makes a ridiculously delicious and ginormous tahini butter cake with espresso ganache frosting. There has never been a dinner where even a spoon would’ve been out of the question… BUT, take it home and have a few forks 2 hours later?
