Nay for the spicy chicken nuggets (refrigerated). They seem to be a lot of fat and shrink a lot when cooking. They didn’t crisp up. All around bad.
Bought some today on your recommendation!
I can’t remember who here rec the Crunchy Milk Chocolate & Sea Salt Thins … OMG so exquisite. I love the packaging design, too. They are small, individually wrapped. Very proud of myself that I can limit myself to no more than one per day … I sorta hide the bag in a drawer out of sight.
Ooh, I haven’t seen that yet! Thanks for the pointer.
I tried the Tom Yum Snack Mix recently. It’s really tasty, great crunchy texture, but the coating is super powdery and messy. I’m not sure if you’re supposed to eat it with your hands and keep a bunch of napkins handy, or maybe find a small pair of tongs…
This has probably been posted elsewhere but thought readers of this thead would be interested. In addition to getting an expert’s opinion on what’s good at TJs, I learned an awful lot about cheese.
Best,
Unfortunately have to give these a NAY. There isn’t a hint of furikake, and it’s just overwhelmingly sweet to me. Wildly different flavor profile than what is typical, and not in a good way - more like breakfast cereal when you hit some pieces.
Thinking about it and I’m not sure why they’ve called it Furikake Mix. Seaweed is the last thing listed in the several hundred word ingredients list. and there are just tiny bits of it on the mochi crisps. It does also say it has sesame seeds in it near the end if the list too. I DO have a sweet tooth, so I’m sticking with my rating.
That’s a mouthwatering video, thanks for sharing.
In a similar vein:
Way too sweet, not enough salty. I miss the wasabi peas, soy-sauced crackers, and peanuts in the mix.
I once bought BTB organic chicken and beef bases at Costco. The meat flavor was extremely weak. I kept adding more of it to the soup pot but it did not turn out well.
The three TJ stores in my orbit have always restocked during customer hours.
Same with all the stores in my area. It’s part of the reason it’s always easy to find an employee on the floor.
Yay(ish) for the rosemary kettle chips. I thought they were a little strong, but my husband loved them.
I had to return the jar of pitted Kalamata olives … way too salty.
Meh for the apple buns (Danish) – extremely sweet, and the Apple portion is like pie filling.
Meh on the frozen spaghetti with meat sauce, sampled yesterday. The sauce has a confusing mix of herbs and spices, and the single-serving package has 43% of sodium RDA.
I can’t imagine frozen (cooked) pasta not being overcooked after reheating — spaghetti especially.
Back in the motherland, I occasionally got frozen penne with spinach and gorgonzola, but those mofos can stand up to a reheat, generally.
Frozen lasagnas seem to be popular, though. And mac-and-cheese.
