Touring MGM Grand, National Harbor, MD...

Our trips to the D.C./Beltway are always filled with surprises. Recently walked thru the new MGM Grand Hotel & Casino at National Harbor, Maryland, just off 95 outside of Alexandria, VA. and it was amazing. Big, flashy and loaded with eating places of all types. There is: Marcus by Chef Marcus Samuelsson, FISH by Jose Andres (he maintains a major presence around D.C.), Voltaggio Bros. Steakhouse, Ginger Asian Cuisine, Bellaggio Patisserie, and an area called National Market, sort of a food hall that includes Shake Shack. Spent some time sipping beers and snacking at their sprawling TAP Sports Bar. And, yes, the casino was busy…
Who knew they would allow gambling so close to D.C.?

Has anyone visited one of the primary restaurants here yet? Curious for my next visit to The Beltway…

No experience with this hotel, but Jose Andres’s standalone Zaytinya, Jaleo, and Oyamel were enjoyable.

We enjoyed Rosa Mexicana. The table side guac was pretty good.

Thanks, Nova. Did not notice Rosa when I was there. They must have signed on recently. Enjoy them in Manhattan from time to time…

Rosa is down towards the waterfront. I think it’s been there awhile.

There used to be a restaurant called Ketchup down there also; it was the worst service I can remember. They didn’t stay open very long.

Oh, yes Nate! You are referring to the National Harbor itself. I know now. I was talking about inside the MGM Grand…
