I am glad that they are open later now…

I was in the mood for a hot turkey sandwich. Bar Clams, which has a posh hot turkey sandwich

isn’t doing take-out yet.

I decided to add roast turkey ($5 charge) to The Fave salad ($17) at Mandy’s. Honey mustard dressing.

There’s also a deal where an 8 ounce soup can be added as a side , for $5. This is the smokey chicken soup.

Ps the roast turkey is pretty salty. Tastes like deli turkey more than roasted in a restaurant turkey. It’s fine, just not as made in house tasting as I like on a salad.

The small, $15 vegan curry with a little Jerk Seitan and a little Moringa Loaf, with brown rice and quinoa, from Veggie D’ Light. The curry itself is pretty good. The rice and quinoa are cooked until mushy.

The tuna sandwich ($16) and Caprese sandwich ($14) at Lambo’s Deli.

I like the tuna more than the Caprese.

What you are is half of each sandwich.

Each sandwich must weigh over 300 grams.

Have they hollowed out the bread to fit the fillings in?

I think so. It certainly was missing and the sides didn’t seem packed down. Lots of arugula inside both sandwiches.

I was a bit hungry at midnight so I emptied the tuna and arugula from one half onto a plate, and ate it as a salad. I saved the bun for later, maybe for a snack on a drive later today.

I’m trying to give up sweets right now, and continue through Lent, which begins in 10 days. It’s been 36 hours since my last chocolate biscuit/ sweet.

Greek village salad and 2 chicken souvlaki sticks from Christina’s on the Danforth. It was good. I would return. They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights.

There’s also a cheaper happy hour/ early bird souvlaki dinner available, from 3 pm to 6 pm weekdays. It’s around $20-$22.

I didn’t want potatoes or rice, and I wanted more chicken, so I ordered the salad with with sticks instead of a happy hour special.

Interestingly, the kitchen staff in the kitchen at Christina’s was ethnically Greek, and Greek- speaking today. That isn’t too common on the Danforth these days. The food can be just as good regardless of who is in the kitchen, of course.
