[TORONTO] Chefs' House Summerlicious

It’s too late to book but I went to Summerlicious at Chefs’ House Thursday lunch. I haven’t been since last year when I thought I was going for Summerlicious but was a week early - and paid the higher price for my mistake. My sister really wanted to try this so she went as my date.

I chose the white gazpacho which was light, milky and tangy. I love cold soups. There was a basket with four small slices of plain focaccia and two little buns served with roasted garlic bread. Sis chose asparagus (chilled and perfectly cooked) with two pieces of very nice prosciutto. They still offer house water - still or sparkling - free of charge. We both chose the miso cod with Daikon and dashi. Light and not too salty. I had orange creme brulée with a vanilla biscotto, she had coconut cream panacotta.

Everything was lovely including the student service. Sis had chosen the gazpacho at first but told the server she couldn’t have dairy. The maitre d’ came over and swiftly removed it and gave her the asparagus with zero fuss. Great service.

They really do a good job there and for $27 no tip accepted it’s a bargain.
