Toronto Burger and Fries Price Metric Thread, June 2023 and onwards

Burgers Priest has gone way downhill since it was acquired by a larger food service company, and they’ve changed their burger “grind” for sure. Haven’t been to Holy Chuck lately, it was one of my favorites.

That’s because you don’t eat them for dinner

Wow, l forgot about Holy Chuck. I had a burger there a long time ago when they had a location around Yonge and College. It was quite good.
Now it is on my to do list. Thanks!

I’m a convert to the brunch burger.

Safari Grill’s Safari burger, now $21.99 before tax image

Winter is coming, then what?

Take-out in the park, in my car or on my wee balcony.

Safari keeps the patio going a little longer than most. I have decided I don’t do patios once the temps dip below 15 °C.

Although, I do like Union’s little heated patio, so maybe that will be my winter local this winter. I haven’t tried their burger yet.

Or, you can learn to make that same burger at home for about $6!! :pinched_fingers:

I’m going to try the $29 burger at Union soon. I guarantee it will be a thousand times better than my burger at home.

OMG, I always try to hit up Harveys when I’m back in Canada! I’m glad it’s not just me. In addition to a chargrilled burger, I need my french fries and gravy fix (hard to get in Boston).

I tried this relatively new ’ smash burger ’ place in my neighbourhood. Pretty decent but a touch expensive.'' BURGER FACTORY, Richmond Hill ‘’ - A brand new neighborhood specialist burger joint offering above average, quality products

This place has quite a few outposts. At least 2 in London, Ontario, and several in TO, and elsewhere.

11 locations in Ontario, and locations in the States.

I found their cheeseburger to be pretty good. Not quite as good as Rudy’s, Happy Burger or Harry’s Charbroiled. I haven’t tried Marty’s Pattie’s or Burger Drops.

Yes people, I’ve figured out how to use a camera phone. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Now I will make you suffer through my out-of-focus photos.

Burger Drops at $12 for a double original smashburger. It does live up to the hype. A very rich version of a smashburger at slightly under half a pound. As with all smashburgers, they don’t survive delivery well so we ate at one of the four tables in-store. It seems most of their business is takeout which we find deteriorates the quality too much. Eat it there. Or even on their parking lot if you have to. See how that bun is soft and fluffy? It’s not gonna survive the trip home.

With Aloette Go’s traditional 4 oz burger at $12.50 and Burger Drops’ 7 oz smashburger at $12, we really don’t need to patronize pub-like places that offer burgers at higher prices.

Humungous double bacon cheeseburger from a new-ish smash burger joint(Slayer Burger) . Really good burger and rings, but next time I’ll only get the single patty. And it was delivered to my table by an adorable robot! What’s not to like

I was just at the East York location last night! I had the classic smash double ($12.99 + $5.49). Patty weight not specified but feels like more than a quarter pounder each. The way they assemble it is more like a traditional burger, but with a smash burger patty so it’ll probably survive the trip home. The extra toppings are really expensive so order the burger that has the toppings you want. They’re also doing the charcoal bun for Halloween. Definitely good rings. I do prefer Burger Drop’s juicier patties.

Sure was a chonky burger, single patty is enough for me these days. Next I’ll try Rudy on Eglinton and see if I’ll add it to my burger rotation since Burgers Priest has gone way down in quality.

I liked Rudy a little more than Happy Burger. I still like Harry’s Charbroiled (realize it’s outside your neighborhood @PedroPero ) ,which is saltier than Rudy. So Rudy would be a burger I buy more frequently.

Haven’t tried Burger Drops yet.

I also want to try the burger served at Union on Ossington at brunch. (Different style and price point, of course)

Anyone willing to tabulate prices of https://torontolife.com/food/torontos-top-10-burgers-chef-joe-friday/ ? :yum:
