$5.75 breakfast sandwich at Contra Café at 1028 Shaw, with egg , cheddar, a little ham, lemon chive mayo. It’s the pre-made type. They warm it up. It hit the spot. It’s on the lighter side than some, and not a messy breakfast sandwich.

Fika’s Breakfast Sandwich with bacon, arugula, pickles, and cheese on a Blackbird Milk Bun.
This was lighter than most, and I liked it. The egg is frittata-style . $8.95 before tax and tip.

I tried the Fika vegetarian breakfast sandwich on Wed. Arugula, egg, tomato jam, maybe a little cheese, on a Blackbird Milk Bun. Pretty good value at around $8.95 before tax. No photo from me this time.

We really liked that one. Do they still have the Scotch egg sandwich? We wanted to try that one.

The online menu changes a bit. They don’t currently offer the Scotch Egg sandwich.
The main choices are breakfast sandwich with pork belly or avocado + potato, a soft yolk tamago sandwich with a bit of seaweed that’s served cold, and Hong Kong French Toast with pandan and coconut.

Nowadays, one can find good Spanish Jamon almost everywhere. However, finding good, crusty bread is another matter?! That bread used to make the sandwich looks GOOD!!!

I usually order the vegetarian one with avocado and rosti.
I also ordered a breakfast sandwich from Hot Pork a couple weeks ago. No phone with me that day.

It was good. I would order or again. It’s a room temp sandwich with egg frittata, on a Harbord Bakery bun.
