Top Chef Season 22

I think it would’ve been a more serious contender for loser if they weren’t factoring in the QF.

That sounds like something I should be doing!

I was right there with you. I gave the “Don’t you dare…” death stare at the screen during that whole final judging scene.

Things like that have probably happened!

Husband was wondering if any contestant has made it to the finals without being on the bottom. Does anyone know?

Spoilers!;

Technically, Kristen Kish (Season 10, Seattle) was NEVER in the Low Group - but she was voted OUT in the 11th week and won her way back in via LCK. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Chef:_Seattle#Contestant_progress

Just like you to know! Extra “cred” if you didn’t have to look! I like the way Wikipedia does those charts and links to seasons.

It looks like Bryan V never had a low, I think never heard pykag, but didn’t win!

So only Kish was never on the bottom, if you don’t count “pykag”! And it looks like several winners went once!

I didn’t want to jinx Tristan by suggesting he might win! Husband and I thought he didn’t look upset; he seems sort of stoic. Or inscrutable! I love that word.

Should read…" in Top Chef: Las Vegas , Bryan V never had a low, and he never heard pykag, but he also never won!"

I had no idea before looking it up on Wikipedia, but I was pretty sure Kristen Kish would be on the list.

I’m watching him in the second season of 24 x 24. Seems like a low-key guy.

Just watched the new episode of top Chef. Quick fire was a bit flakey but I liked the idea of making food that reflects different seasons.

I’ve been watching that too!

I’m pulling for Massimo to win Top Chef Canada.

As contestant Lana would say "I love that for you!

Tristan has made some really interesting food and seems like a really good guy. Sad when he lost his stepfather last week. Maybe pulling for him but they all seem like good people.

I want to better understand “over-rested”. I’ve heard it a few times this season.

I understand the principle of resting, but beyond not hot, over rested seems harder to convey. Also, much harder to avoid when you can’t control when people eat.
