Top Chef Season 21

Top Chef Winner spoiler!

Top Chef’ Season 21 Winner on Looking ‘Ridiculous’ and Their Plans for the…

Sadly can’t read the whole thing because I must become a paid subscriber. Oh well. Episode was interesting and I was slightly surprised at the winner, but overall I’m a fan of TC and I really like Kristen. Her connection to the competition and her judging feels very authentic and adds a new dimension to the show.

Yes, vince mancini now requires a subscription to read his whole review ( and I wish him luck!), but the first link, which is to "Variety ", should work.

Here’s a link to the fan favorite.

Well, that’s done. What’s next?

I agree with the fan favorite. Although I did not care for this season’s cast. I do like Kristen very much, and I’m hoping next season takes place someplace that lends itself to the series better than Wisconsin!

I didn’t even realize they announced fan favorite already. I definitely would have voted for her too, or who was eventually #2. I was holding out to see if #2 might win it all.

It was definitely clear based on the meal, as they went that it was down to 2. I’m seeing discussions on other forums tearing the winner based on comments that were aired, but I do agree that some of the criticism of the foods came across as more minor for me, than serious technical issues, conceptual issues or cooking issues with the dish. I really appreciated the level of thoughtfulness the winner brought to each dish, and I would done the same to reward the winner for pushing the envelope and being creative too.

Ciao house finale coming up! I haven’t checked out Paris show yet but I’m not as excited about sweets. Great American Recipe has started on PBS. I really liked the first season, second season not as interesting but will give the 3rd season a look. I appreciate that people aren’t kicked off every week and it’s more of a cumulative win.

Maybe I will try Great American Recipe. I love Great British Menu.

Paris show finished. I watched the finale last night, and was surprised they chose the same winner as I did.

I don’t recall watching the other seasons so maybe I will!

Is that show good?

How do you watch that? I’d love to try it.

There’s an awful lot of drama, but I enjoy the cats sauntering through various shots.

ETA actually it might be that app someone here told me about.

I’m back! Story of where to watch Great British Menu linked here; newest seasons are on Daily Motion

Alex seems to enjoy highlighting it, or at least that’s how it looks.

I’ve enjoyed it. It’s more “reality show” than top chef but food is delicious and love the setting.

I went on Rotten Tomatoes and found the Great British Menu (various seasons) on Amazon Prime video, and Peacock.

I initially watched a bunch of seasons on Prime and then watched newer seasons on Daily Motion.

Well written and thoughtful. I was also very surprised when they announced the winner, but happy for all three finalists. Not a fan of the cruise ship setting but assuming they got a big chunk of cash from Holland-American line.

This week’s episode of the Ringer’s Watch podcast features an interview with Gail (starting around the 36 minute mark).

It’s pretty interesting. On the finale, she said said Danny’s was unquestionably the best meal, that his dessert was the best dish of the night, and that the editing exaggerated their quibbles about his dishes while skipping sone criticisms of Dan’s food.

She maybe also offered the last word on the David Murphy LCK situation. She said that the way they conducted the cook-off between the three bottom contestants in the first episode was essentially putting them through a LCK scenario, so David having lost that, they didn’t think they needed him to do it again. In other words, it sounds like his Instagram comment that he “wasn’t allowed to compete” was perhaps more accurate than Tom’s tweet that he opted out, if that’s the whole true story.

And she also addresses fans’ feelings that the season was a letdown following the International All Stars last season.

Thank you! This captures exactly my response upon watching the finale (just today as I was catching up). The entire edit confused me.
