Time sensitive Rao's on sale at Stew Lenoards Yonkers, NY through Sept 5

I got their Stew’s Long Island Italian Gravy. Not bad at all - It doesn’t compare with Rao’s but good in a pinch. Stew’s gave it a valiant effort!

Thanks! I’ll pick up a jar on my next visit.

You foodies actually like jarred sauce?? I am really surprised. IMHO, It’s almost as easy to make a marinara from scratch as it is to dump and heat up a jar of sauce and it tastes a whole lot better and fresher and doesn’t have that commercial jarred sauce taste.

Rao’s is the only jarred sauce I really like. Not all types, but several. The Marinara, Vodka (more like a plain chunky tomato sauce), Puttanesca, and the best, but only rarely made, is the Cuore Di Pomodoro. Which is so good I can eat it from the jar, but they haven’t made it in a few years.

I won’t pay full price for any of the Rao’s, except if they bring back the Cuore Di Pomodoro, but when the 32 oz. jars of marinara are on sale at Stew’s, or occasional others at half price, then I’ll pick up a case.
