Three Penny Taproom, Montpelier VT

We drove to Burlington VT yesterday to pick our youngest up from school for a long weekend.
On the way home we stopped in Montpelier for dinner at the Three Penny Taproom.

We split an order of buttermilk fried wings which came with a very spicy ipa dipping sauce and a less spicy maple bbq sauce, I liked this one the best.

Two of us ordered the fried chicken sandwich, dressed with lettuce, pickles and a house made aioli on a brioche roll, had mine with a side salad, son had fries.
We both really enjoyed the sandwich. A good crunchy cook on the chicken.
My husband ordered the 1/2 grilled cheese with a cup of potato leek soup. He said both were really good, especially the sandwich.
We did not order dessert, but the home made chocolate pudding did give us pause.

We had a 2.5 hour ride home from there, so we did not do justice to the beer options. But they looked very tempting. Something for everyone. I did have an Allagash White and my husband enjoyed a kumbacha tea.

We are very happy to find this place, and the main street of Montpelier. There were several spots that looked interesting and that we hope to try in the future.
