Thoughts on Eataly in lower Manhattan...

Went thru the new Eataly in the Financial District yesterday while touring The Battery area of lower Manhattan. It is extravagant, as are the others. It was busy. Did pick up a bread, cheese and a tee-shirt that offered a quote from Sophia Loren: ‘Everything you see is because of spaghetti’. Thought it was cute!
They will be holding a Carnevale festival this month, too.

Access is a pain, and everyone - tourists and employees alike - is aloof.
Not to mention, underwhelming cheeses in Flatiron are the same downtown…

Our recent visit was part of a trip around The Battery which is lovely. Going up the escalator to Eataly, if that is what you are referring to, was fun, too, especially for the kids. And the building itself is down the street from the new Oculus transportation hub, which is also a sight to see (‘Star Wars’ near Wall Street), and it will get you anywhere…
